Never take yourself out of life. Even when things get crazy around you and you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, frazzled or at your boiling point, learning how to manage stress and your feelings in those situations is a skill that is key to wellness and peace of mind. Discover simple ways to get back in control of your emotions and regain the calm that is so essential to your well-being.

Taking yourself out of a situation doesn’t solve anything. It just postpones dealing with whatever feelings are coming up. Tackling the reasons why you don’t want to participate is what will give you a greater sense of self and self control no matter what is going on!

Every experience has something to teach you – something to help you sharpen your people skills, exercise forgiveness or maybe let go of an unwanted behavior.

Each circumstance gives you an opportunity to look closely at who you’re being in that situation. With this awareness, you can use any experience as a learning opportunity. You now can see where to put the corrections in when you’re off the mark and give yourself a big pat on the back when you’re in the ZONE.

3 Keys to Help You Stay in the Game

1) Take a Time Out! Give yourself a break from whatever the situation is. This distance will give you perspective. It allows you a moment to diffuse the emotional charge.

2) Self Talk. That’s right. Have a chat with yourself. Talking it over is essential for you to get it out of your physical body. Sometimes a good scream at the top of your lungs can be a major quick fix to get the negativity out!

3) Get with your coach, advisor, mentor or support team to get you back on track. You know what you want to achieve. When you’re stressed out, allow others to help you get anchored in a positive mode that is aligned with your goals. You need other people who you trust, whose expertise you value, to help you navigate through emotional and trying situations.

For relief of any symptom, you need the right prescription. It is the same with stress. Find the ways that work for you to be able to loosen up and return to calm. Understanding how to get this feeling under your control will be a huge boost for your self esteem and self confidence. You will no longer feel powerless to this state of being. Instead, you will have found tools that help you diffuse the constant worry, help alleviate the tension and get you back to feeling centered.
